Email signatures and social buttons

For whoever manages the company email signatures, and anyone adding ClimbUK buttons to an email, a footer or a share kit.

How it fits together

  • The signature tool (the service that adds signatures to everyone's mail) holds the signature, fills in each person's details and keeps the links live. The social links are buttons in the signature, not part of a graphic, so they can change without re-issuing images.
  • The images (logo, social icons, banner buttons, the date sticker) are in the Signature downloads, and hosted on climb-uk.com so mail can link to them instead of attaching them. Every image is a PNG at 2x (and 3x for icons), because many mail clients do not show SVG.
  • The template is an HTML signature in the downloads. Paste it into the signature tool's HTML view and swap the placeholders for the tool's own fields (name, role, phone, email).

The signature

One block, top to bottom, at most 720px wide:

  1. The sign-off ("Kind regards,").
  2. Name in Montserrat Bold (Arial fallback), 16px; role underneath in Open Sans.
  3. A "Book a meeting with me" link to the person's booking page.
  4. Phone and mobile ("T:" and "M:"), then email and website on one line, separated by a bar.
  5. On the right: the logo (200px wide) with a row of outlined social icons under it: Facebook, X, Bluesky, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  6. The help note in italics: non-sales enquiries go through the Helpdesk first; partnerships and exhibiting have their own addresses.
  7. The campaign banner from the Email banners downloads, 720px wide, linked to that campaign's page. Swap it with each campaign.
  8. The confidentiality line in small type.

Live text for everything a person reads, so it works with images off and with screen readers. Every image has alt text that says where the link goes ("ClimbUK on LinkedIn"; the banner's alt text repeats its headline).

Light and dark mail clients. Many people read mail in a dark theme, so the signature works on both. On white: name in Charcoal, text in Body Slate #4A5878, links in Deep Orange #8D4419, all at 13px or larger. On dark: name in White, text in Light Grey, links in Climb Orange, and the reversed logo. The template switches automatically where the mail client allows it; where it does not, the white version still reads on dark because the orange outline icons and the banner carry their own colour.

The icon set

Each icon comes in five filled schemes, and the outline style the signature uses:

Scheme Ground Glyph Use
orange Climb Orange Dark Brown Default in signatures and on light grounds
dark Dark Brown White Dark footers, share kit graphics
charcoal Charcoal Climb Orange Charcoal footers and slides
mono-dark none Charcoal Quiet use on White or Light Grey
mono-white none White Quiet use on Dark Brown, Charcoal or photos

Shapes: outline (a rounded square line in Climb Orange, White or Charcoal; the signature default), circle and square (10px radius at 48px). Icons: LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, Bluesky (outline only), Facebook, YouTube, website, email, phone, book a meeting and tickets. File names are icon_<name>_<scheme>_<shape>@2x.png, for example [email protected].

  • Show icons at 24px in signatures and footers, 32px in share kit graphics, with 6px between them. Never smaller than 20px.
  • A large icon version of the signature shows the social icons at 44px, from the @3x files, for people who find small targets hard to tap. Offer it as a choice next to the standard 24px version, which stays the default.
  • Every glyph meets 3:1 against its ground (WCAG 1.4.11).
  • Do not redraw or recolour the platforms' own glyphs beyond these schemes; LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, Bluesky, Facebook and YouTube each have their own brand rules.

The photo banner is the default. These pills are for places where a banner is too big, such as replies and short internal mail.

Pills 40px high (80px PNG), in orange (Dark Brown label, so it passes at any size) or dark (White label, orange arrow). Show each at half the PNG's pixel width:

File Label Width Link
button_tickets_* Get your Climb27 ticket 268 the Climb27 tickets page
button_meeting_* Book a meeting with me 272 the person's booking link
button_partner_* Partner with ClimbUK 226 the partnerships page
button_see-you_* See you at Climb27 209 the Climb27 page

The date sticker ([email protected], shown 296px wide) can stand in for a button. Use one banner, button or sticker per signature, never more.

Need something else?

Ask the ClimbUK brand team for a new label, icon or scheme rather than making your own, so every signature stays consistent.

Every value on these pages comes from the brand tokens. When the tokens change, these pages change with them.
